My Story...

A Very Bad Day To Be a Girl Scout

     Today was supposed to be the best day ever, and of course, with my luck, it turned out to be the worst day ever. I know, you're probably wondering what happened, but don't worry I'll tell you. Today was the day that I was eligible to be a girl scout brownie, which means I get a new vest to put my badges on! This was a big deal because none of my friends were brownies yet, and they were going to be so jealous.

     I woke up, and my eyes saw it right away. The brown vest seemed to be glowing, and the matching outfit to go with it was hanging on my closet door. I flew out of bed, and quickly threw on my shirt, skirt, socks and shoes, but I took my sweet time putting on my vest. I went downstairs to eat breakfast, but took my time to make sure I didn't drop food on it. A couple minutes before the bus came, and I had forgotten to brush my teeth! I raced upstairs and started brushing as fast as a I could. "I see the bus!" yelled my mom. I started to panic, and quickly spit the remaining toothpaste out of my mouth. As I stumbled out to the bus, I looked down at my vest and saw that the toothpaste hadn't landed in the sink, it had landed on my vest.

     When I finally reached the bus stop, the bus had already passed. I sighed, and began walking to school. On the way to school, I rubbed the toothpaste off  my vest by standing in front of my neighbor's sprinkler for a couple of seconds. I began skipping to school because I looked awesome, and my vest looked brand new! My happiness was crushed within minutes.

It started to rain, and it rained hard. As I began running to school, a car passed by me. Low and behold, the car drove through a puddle and soaked me entirely. A little water never hurt right? But with my luck, I stumbled over my feet from running too fast, and fell right into a mud puddle.

     I picked myself up, and knew I was a mess. Slowly like a turtle, I hung my head and started walking to school. By the time I got to school, I was 15 minutes late. I walked right to the secretary's office and collapsed in a chair. The tears came streaming down my face, and the secretary didn't even have to ask what happened. You could tell just by looking at me. So, not the best day to be a girl scout.

Evening Dress

They did seem to smile.

The dress indeed, was

impossible to miss.

Marigold,

Mango,

Mustard,

and Orange.

A bright hue;

upbeat and sunny.

I created this poem in a process of 3 steps. First, I printed an article about fashion that I found online. Second, I went through and highlighted key words that stuck out to me. Finally, I took the highlighted words and created a poem out of them. The most challenging part was finding the right article with the right words, but all in all it was a pretty easy assignment.

5. Christina Hendricks in Naeem Khan and Geoffrey Arend

This is not a dress I would see myself wearing to an event because A; the dress has a very low cut neck line and B; the design and color of the dress is not very eye catching.

4. Teyonah Parris in Francesca Miranda  

The designer of this dress definitely captured the look of wrapping a bed sheet around your body and keeping it help up with a belt. Maybe this dress would look better with a different design on the fabric.

3. Danielle Brooks

One word comes to mind when I see this dress, symmetry. Definitely not a good choice to pair yellow with baby blue and throw on a dark blue belt.

2. Heidi Klum in Versace

Honestly, this dress looks like a bunch of different fabrics that were just randomly sewn together. I would not wear this dress because it definitely blends in with your skin tone.

1. Joanna Newsom

I love the color of this dress, but what is going on everywhere else? Looking at this dress makes me confused. Like what's with the oval sewn onto her chest? I'll give her props for being able to go out in something like this.

Review On UGG Boots!

     Everyone has their favorite category of fashion such as shirts pants, shoes, dresses, skirts and so on. I am a shoe fanatic, and I probably have over 20 pairs of shoes! I love all kinds of shoes, but I chose to do my review on UGG Boots. I picked this specific brand because almost everyone owns or knows about these boots.

     I too have my own pair of UGG Boots, and I love them! There are different colors and styles of boots to purchase, so I like how there is a variety to choose from. Inside the boot, is a warm, fuzzy fabric that keeps your feet warm, which comes in handy during the winter. UGG Boots can easily be worn with almost any kind of outfit, and during all the colder seasons.
     A downfall for this product would be that UGG Boots are very expensive. They can range from 75 to over 200 dollars. You can get them for cheaper during a holiday sale or something like that, but buy them fast because they sell really quick! I try not to wear my UGG Boots out in the rain or snow because the moisture left my boots looking this this:

There is a way to prevent the white stains however, and you can do that by using a waterproof spray on the outsides of the boots.
     So, if you're wondering whether to buy this product or not, I would say yes! Although there are some slight downfalls, there are ways that they can be prevented! I am very happy with my UGG Boots, and would rate them a 4.5/5! 


  

Why I Chose This Topic...

Hey Bloggers! Happy New Year!
Rachel Zoe once said, "Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak." I like this quote because many people don't really define style and fashion the right way, and it relates to my topic today since I am writing about why I chose fashion as my blogging topic! There are a few reasons why I decided to create my blog about fashion. One reason is because to me, fashion defines who you are. Each person has their own unique style that represents their personality. Another reason is I think it's fun to express yourself however you want through clothing.
